The weekend of May 22-23 turned out to be a great weekend for Houston Express teams. Both our U14 girls and our U17 girls went undefeated at the President's Cup State Championship.

Both teams WON the State Championship. They advance to the U. S. Region III

Soccer Championships in Broken Arrow Oklahoma in early June. The U14 girls are coached and trained by Director of Coaching Mark Gibbs along with coach David Marks. The U17 girls are coached and trained by Eric Johnson, along with coach Barry Zietz.

While last year our then U17 boys won the State Championship, I believe this is the first time in club history we will have 2 State Champion teams in the same year with both advancing to U. S. Regionals.

Robbe Tarver, a Houston Express player since 2000,
will be continuing his soccer career at Centre College in Danville, KY. Robbe was the leading scorer in the '92 Navy team's run to the 2009 STYSA President's Cup State Championship and USYS Region III semi-final appearance. He also helped lead the Strake Jesuit College Preparatory soccer team to the 2010 Texas UIL 5A Championship Game and was named to the All-Tournament Team, as well as the District 18-5A first team. Robbe, a two-year letterman at Jesuit, had 10 goals and 10 assists during his senior season. Eric Johnson and Vedad Hadzajlic trained Robbe for Express. Bill McDonald, Jamy Champenoy and Reynold D'Souza coached Robbe at Jesuit. Robbe's parents are Annette and Brent Tarver.

Two Houston Express teams won championships at the 39th Annual Dynamos Puma Valentine's Day Cup
held this last weekend. The U-13 Navy and U-14 Navy boys each captured their resptive division titles.

The Houston Express 96G White Soccer Team won First Place in the
28th Annual MCUSA Friendship Tournament.

13 Boys Hoist Runners-Up Cup at Texas Rush Tournament
Express '97 Navy Boys, competing in the Open (Division One) bracket at
the Texas Rush Cup, went undefeated in group play, defeating hosts Texas
Rush, Albion - West and National Fusion, before drawing 1 - 1 with the
Texans in the championship game and coming up short in a PK shootout.

The Houston Express �92 Navy Boys won the U-17 South Texas Youth
Soccer Association (STYSA) President�s Cup State Soccer Championship. Express �92 will represent South Texas at the Region III President�s Cup Championships in South Carolina from June 11 to 14.
Teams from ten states in addition to Texas will

be at the regional championships to qualify for the National Championships in July.

Express �92 has players from Bellaire HS, Cy-Falls HS, Episcopal HS, Lamar HS, Milby HS,
St. Johns School, Strake Jesuit College Preparatory, Westbury HS and Westchester Academy.
The core team members have played together since 2002.

The Houston Express United 00 went 3 W and 1 L to win the Fusion Tournament. The boys scored 9 goals in 4 games winning the championship 3-2. Congratulations!
