South Campus/Emery Weiner Parking Lot Update
There
are a couple of safety-related developments at the South Campus/Emery
Weiner Parking Lot that I would like to bring to your attention.
First,
in an effort to alleviate congestion at the southeast corner of the
parking lot and to provide for a safer environment for our children
being picked up and dropped off in this area, Gate 2, the gate on the
middle the fence line along the south end of the parking lot, will be
closed for the time being. We hope that this will have the effect of
spreading the pick-up and drop-off points along the whole of the fence
line. Also, we would like to remind parents waiting to pick up their
children to, if possible, pull into vacant parking spaces rather than
double-park. If there are no parking spaces available, please do not
idle in a location that will impede the flow of traffic generally.
Second, in these uncertain times, to promote the safety of our children
and our athletic facility, South Campus Sports Association, in
conjunction with the Emery Weiner School, has decided to implement an
access pass system for automobiles entering the South Campus parking
lots.
The
pass, in the form of a 1 x 1 1/2 inch sticker that we would ask you to
affix to the top left corner of your windshield, will allow you to
access the parking lot at Emery Wiener without stopping at the guard
shack. Those who choose not to affix the sticker to their vehicle will
still have access to the parking lots; however, on entering the Emery
Weiner parking lot, they will have to stop at the guard shack and
identify themselves as a "soccer," "baseball," "football","softball" or
"lacrosse" family, as the case may be.
Finally, please refer to the
South
Campus traffic flow map.
Please enter only at the north gate and exit only at the south gate.
We
appreciate your cooperation in the implementation of this important
safety measure. We will provide you additional information on how to
pick up the access stickers in the near future.
Thank
you for your attention.
